Alberta is a perfect choice to bowhunt for mature bears as there is a very healthy Black Bear population and in most areas a 2 Bear limit. The Athabasca River area of Alberta Canada is FAMOUS for it’s TROPHY BLACK BEAR and our outfitter is in the heart of it. It takes two things for a Black Bear to grow to monster status. It’s this simple AGE + GENETICS = TROPHIES and this remote area of Alberta provides plenty of both! Hunting is primarily done over bait but there may be an opportunity for you to spot and stalk some Bears if you prefer, just confer with us on the front end if that is your preference. You can expect your shots on the baits to be 25 yards or less depending on the site and set up.

The color phases range from black to dark chocolate brown to blonde. The average male black bear will weigh anywhere from 200 to 450 pounds with many being 6' plus from nose to tail. As noted above…many bears harvested with this outfitter in Alberta have made the record books. This outfitter and his staff will give you an amazing week of hunting these big bears. You will be staying in a very comfortable lodge and enjoy hearty home cooked meals each day.

While most other operations offer 5 day hunts this is a unique opportunity to hunt for 7 FULL DAYS! This is a very welcome advantage for wanting some extra time to focus on only shooting mature bears. Having plenty of time to wait out Mr. Big just ups the odds of you leaving with a beautiful trophy and a sizeable taxidermy bill. Our outfitter will also pick you up at the airport and bring you back making it a hassle free experience in getting to and from camp.
