We are so very fortunate to work with one of the very best in the business in providing Alaska Guided Brown Bear Bowhunts. This outfitter himself has taken several record book Brown Bear with a bow himself and there are not many other outfitters that can say that in Alaska…if any. There is no substitute for experience when bowhunting dangerous game and this outfitter has been doing this for many years now. SIMPLY PUT…YOU WILL NOT FIND A BROWN BEAR OUTFITTER WITH A DEEPER BOWHUNTING BACKGROUND IN ALASKA!
These baited Brown Bear hunts take place in the southern end of unit 16B. This area sits between Lake Clark National Park and Cook Inlet and is a remote fly-in hunt. Bear density in this area is very high and most of the country is extremely thick. This makes for tough spot and stalk hunting but is excellent for baited hunts. This hunt is custom tailored to bowhunters, and we utilize ground blinds, Millennium Tree Stands, Ozonics, and other scent control products. Blinds and stands are set between 15 and 25 yards depending on the location and the hunters that are coming in. There are also a couple rifle baits where you live in a blind across the river from the bait. This is extremely effective as you are never leaving the bait and it is very difficult to ever get winded. Our bowhunters have harvested over numerous P&Y class Brown Bears in the last several years. Several of these Bears were large enough to make awards for B&C including one that was the largest bear entered in the P&Y recording period. A bush flight is required for access to each individual bait site and a camp will be set 1-2 miles away and typically across a river. This ensures that the camps do not disturb the baits, and it allows our outfitter to put the baits in precise spots that Bears naturally want to travel.
We take a limited number of hunters each year and there are more bait sites than hunters. The outfitter fly’s and packs bait to every bait, every day, and runs cameras at each site. This practice has conditioned the Bears to knowing there will be food there every day, and it ensures we are hunting the most productive baits during your hunt. Black Bear can be harvested on a trophy fee of $1000 each if you purchase tags before your hunt. Up to three Black Bears may be harvested. We do not recommend shooting a Black Bear until after you harvest a Brown Bear. A SECOND BROWN BEAR MAY ALSO BE TAKEN ON THIS BOWHUNT providing you purchase a second tag before your hunt. The trophy fee on a second brown bear is $10,000. That’s the potential for two Brown Bears and three Black Bears in the same hunt. No other outfitter put’s in this amount of effort EVERY DAY with baiting and attention to detail which is why EVERY SINGLE HUNTER WE HAVE EVER BOOKED ON THIS HUNT HAS GOTTEN AT LEAST AN OPPORTUNITY TO DRAW ON A P&Y OR B&C CLASS BROWN BEAR. In the archery Brown Bear world this high of an opportunity rate is unprecedented. These Hunts book up at least a year if not two in advance so you really need to contact us and be prepared to book your spot soon.
This is a no frills hunt in remote Alaska bush where you will be logging in many hours on stand. Brown Bear are not like Black Bears and what we have learned over the years is that they can be just as spooky as an old mature Whitetail. Where as a Black Bear will often time stroll into a bait if he knows your there or not a mature Brown Bear will take his sweet time to observe his surroundings and decide accordingly so being ultra quiet and as scent free as humanly possible is critical on this hunt. You will be hunting nights on this adventure and are certain to encounter a Brown Bear up close and personal. Our clients that have done this repeat over and over again they have NEVER experienced an adrenaline hunt like this one. See for yourself what it feels like when a 9’ plus bear walks right under your stand or next to your blind.
There are many outfitters that are now offering baited hunts for Brown Bear and we don’t know of any with a remote fly-in hunt and a work ethic like the outfitter we work with. THIS IS WHY OUR CLIENTS CONSISTENTLY GET SHOT OPPORTUNITIES ON RECORD BOOK BROWN BEARS EVERY YEAR! Spots for this hunt are incredibly limited and book up well in advance as the demand is great for these high success bowhunts. Contact us ASAP if you are serious about booking this hunt.
