Wyoming Trophy Antelope Bowhunts

Wyoming archery Antelope hunts in North Eastern Wyoming have proven to be a popular destination for trophy class Pronghorn hunters every year. With a very healthy Antelope population and readily available tags Wyoming is often the first State that comes to mind when you are considering trophy sized speed goats. Our outfitter in Wyoming is again a proven bowhunting outfitter as he is a bowhunter himself as are several of his guides. So you can be certain that this operation is well aware of what it takes to get you within solid bow range of a trophy class speed goat. Most harvested Antelope will average 5 years old with an average P&Y score in the low 70’s with 80″+ Antelope taken most years. !3″ to 15″ bucks are the norm. You can expect to see multiple bucks per day as you go through your Antelope bowhunt with our outfitter. Archery Antelope begins August 15th and runs through most of September.

Archery Antelope hunts with us are high opportunity / high success bowhunts. You can bowhunt the more traditional way of watching fence crossings and also hunting over water which is always ” productive providing mother nature cooperates “. As most shots from the blinds will be top pin to 40 yards you can expect some upfront in your face encounters. One of our outfitters favorite ways to bowhunt these Antelope is by spot and stalk. Shots can be long up to 60 yards or more but the idea is to stalk an animal that can see, hear and smell far better then we can to really get the blood pumping. This is sure to test the very best spot and stalk hunters out there. Our outfitter would prefer to have no more than 4 bowhunters in camp at a time and have 2 guys sitting water or fences and 2 out on stalks with hunters being able to choose their preferred method. With well over 100,000 PRIVATE acres for Archery Antelope hunts in 12 different areas you will always have some fresh unpressured goats ready to challenge you.

It is not uncommon at all to have multiple shot opportunities over the span of your 4 day bowhunt on trophy class animals. One year our outfitter finally had a client score on the 7th Antelope he had shot at ” missing the first 6 ” I guess sometimes the 7th time is a charm. Another very cool thing about this area is that a bowhunter can pick up a second tag for buck Antelope. You can acquire those tags over the counter, in season every year. So you can bowhunt for your first goat and if you tag out early enough you can always pursue another for a moderate additional cost.

Antelope licenses in this area are generally readily available right on through the season but we do as always encourage our clients to be prepared to follow the drawing guidelines. Even though the tags are always available there is still a little application process to go through. Our outfitter hunts his clients in Wyoming areas 15 and 109 with a standard 100% draw on the regular license. You can combine your Antelope bowhunt with a trophy Mule Deer hunt as you will encounter both species on these managed ranches. You can expect to encounter bucks in the 150″ – 170″+ range with 180″+ plus bucks taken on most years.

Your Lodging that awaits you is a very comfortable place to cool your heels after a long day in the field. You can wind down while watching some T.V. or catching up with the other bowhunters all while you take in the awesome view of the Big Horn Mountains right out of the porch. Once you fill up on a great meal you will most likely be ready to retire to your room to rest up for the next days pursuit. This is also a great opportunity to get a young person involved with the great sport of bowhunting as they will have lots of action and opportunity.

Regardless if it’s your first Pronghorn hunt or you already have a couple of these critters on your wall, we are fully confident that you will have a fantastic time bowhunting some of North Eastern Wyoming‘s finest Antelope ranches. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. We look forward to hosting you on a Antelope bowhunt you surely wont forget.

Best regards, Scott Alberda
