Oregon Trophy Muledeer Bowhunts

Oregon trophy Muledeer bowhunting is turning out to be better then we ever could have hoped for. Our outfitter in Eastern Oregon is a Muledeer fanatic and is very comfortable working with our bowhunting clients as he is a bowhunter himself. Oregon is very appealing as the tags are over the counter for archery, so no draw is required for this area. All bowhunting is done on MANAGED PRIVATE LAND totaling about 12,000 acres. Our outfitter is only going to take 4 lucky bowhunters on this hunt and only 2 per week thus ensuring a quality bowhunt for big Mulies. These ranches are located in Grant County, Oregon. This specific County is arguably the best area in all of Oregon for genetics and buck numbers. See for your self how this County produces by skimming through the record books. This habitat has proven to be among some of the very best in all of Oregon. Perhaps that is why buck numbers are continuing to get better as other parts of this gorgeous State suffer a decline. This part of Oregon can be considered high desert with a mix off rolling country side mixed with juniper, pinion and sage. Plenty of water and even some isolated alfalfa fields all make this habitat as good as you will find here in Eastern, Oregon. This outfitter has been at this well over 20 years as he started out guiding clients for his fathers outfitting business in this same area. In fact when our outfitter is not guiding his clients you can find him somewhere on the country side helping his dad’s outfit. There management goals run deep and are proven time and time again with QUALITY MULEDEER.

Bowhunting for MATURE Muledeer is a real challenge. For you to have the best chance for success you need to be in a situation that can produce multiple opportunities at quality bucks. This is exactly why we have chosen to bowhunt our clients with this outfitter. He knows how to hunt his area and the bucks that call these ranches home. Bowhunting Muledeer is often a long and patient chess match where the hunter needs to make slow calculated moves to close the distance to his or her trophy. This is where having a knowledgeable guide is invaluable to aid in upping the odds that you get into bow range. Our clients can anticipate being into good bucks most every day during their week long Bow and Arrow Adventure. Hunts typically take place the last week of August into the first couple of weeks in September. This is when the season opens and bucks are still in bachelor groups and can be somewhat patterned. They are usually in some of the more open country making them more visible through several hours of glassing. Once you find the buck you are excited about you will make a plan with your guide and if the wind is right then the stalk is on. This will be primarily a spot & stalk hunt with hunting out of a ground blind a possibility if it comes into play. It is not uncommon to see 20 bucks a day with several shooters in the mix. We are focusing on targeting quality P&Y class bucks on this hunt. You should see bucks in the 165″ – 175″ class most days with potential to get into bucks that will break the 180″ mark. They do reside on these ranches and you may very well get a stalk on one of these bruisers but not everybody will take one home.

To give you the absolute best chance to succeed you need to be comfortable potentially shooting out to 60 yards with a well made broadhead that will get the job done.  It is very likely that you will get a good solid shot opportunity over your week here so do your part and practice shooting off of your knees and also standing shots up and down hill. This outfitter maintains a 100% shot opportunity on mature bucks so BE READY!! These hunts are for 7 full days and guided as 1 on 1. This gives our clients plenty of time and personal attention to get in close enough for that high percentage shot you are working towards. Lodging will consist of a clean and comfortable cabin just big enough to make your week long stay enjoyable after a long day pursuing trophy Muledeer. Hot showers and hearty home cooked meals await you after a long day in the field.

This bowhunt is defined by quality not quantity. These spots fill up quickly so you need to be prepared to make a play for your spot and contact us as they are very limited. We will give you all the information that you could need to help you make the decision to book. With a true trophy Muledeer hunt being as difficult an undertaking as it is you need to be certain that you are putting yourself in the best position possible. Not just any outfitter can consistently provide quality opportunities on trophy class bucks via stick and string each and every year. Lucky for you that we have you covered in the beautiful State of Oregon. Please look over the above pics to get an idea of just how good this bowhunt is. We look forward to getting a chance to visit with you more about this incredible Bow and Arrow Adventure for trophy Muledeer.

Best regards, Scott Alberda
